UAD2

If UA really wants to come out with a good product, they should come out with a 1 or 2 space box with knobs, buttons, meters, display kind of like the focusrite liquid mix but with their own plugins. BGive us the feel of hardware instead of just giving us DSP. I looked at the pricing on the DSP cards and unless they are more powerful than HD Accel cards, they seem a bit expensive being that they only run their own plugins. They really need to release a truly innovative product rather than just a more powerful - still limited card.

Just my suggestion!

Well, maybe on Mac - on PC there were cracks (e.g. Logic 5.5)

Hmmmm........Powercore.

Does not give satisfaction like the Neve, Fairchild, ect. of the UAD. If it did, maybe their threads would go over 700 posts on an anticipated new release.

Let's face it, the reason people bitch and moan about the UAD1 so much (like me) is because they like the software, want to use it more and are limited by the antiquated hardware. Kind of like having a really hot wife who only gives it out on Saturday night.

I think the Duende has a better shot at UAD, but their inability to provide a stable and reliable i/o has really limited them.

Man, the music business must really be slow for so many people to spend so much time posting about this. After a few drinks late night, it is funny to look at.

A little bird told me that the new cards are powerful enough to run up to 30 x 33609s

Should mean big things for future plug-in development on the platform.

Those who spend so much time posting, don't do engineering full time in a studio....kinda like me. I could never make enough money doing this full time.

In regards to the UAD 2. Having 2 or 3 cards is enough power for recording at 44.1. I like the Waves Neve plug ins better, and I was told the UAD Neve sucks up a lot of power. The LA2-A, 1176, Pultec, Mastering and Cambridge is what I use my UAD for. I have all the power I need thank you. Spending over $1,000 for another DSP card is something I am not interested in. Hell you could buy a Dell computer for that price. Like it was said before, with Quad processors, we don't need DSP cards anymore.

I'm just waiting for the UAD-2 so the price of the UAD-1 will go down and I can buy a couple extras.

ha ha imagine suing someone for promoting an advertisement
I think they'd be cool with it
If you posted an article of editorial the magazine might have a problem with that...but as far as an ad - thats what they're looking for...

Of course you can, it's an advertisement, so the most people see it, the best they are satisfied.

What's new coming from this advert ?

New brands to be "softwarized" :
- Empirical Labs
- Moog
- Valley People
- Harrison
- Little Labs

Don't know what they all do and what we can wait from them, especially Harrison and Little Labs, but I'm sure it will be cool.

BUT !

It seems that it's the same old SHARC DSP chip... What's the hell...

Do you agree ?
