nuendo - midi and tempo

How can i get midi events to follow the tempo? I started a track in 120bpm and now want to slow it it down to see how it sounds but the midi files just stay the same. What am i missing?

there is a note icon in the midi channel that needs to be engaged to follow tempo changes.....

You need to learn the tempo track. On a PC, hit (ctrl + t) to bring it up. You can draw in the tempo and time signature changes needed. It's actually really easy
