as a logic user who's been waiting for this, i have to say im really impressed. instead of adding 15 new instruments we don't need, they listened to exactly what we needed (sample accurate editing, multitake, etc) and focused on simplicity.

Yep, I agreee.

This is the update I've been waiting for. Sample accurate editing and a less confusing GUI. It will be interesting to see if audio editing is as easy/painless as Pro Tools.

Good Job Apple. Combined with Apogee this is a killer setup.

I'm still trying to get over the initial shock of it all...

SAMPLE ACCURATE EDITING in the arrange window.

The vocal comping looks incredible.

I love the multiple takes...

It looks like they took Live & Logic and had a baby with the loop manipulation & built in browsers.

Tab to Transient feature is so useful for hip hop producers for chopping samples...

I can't believe the pricing..

hopefully they fixed the piano roll.....that always bugged me about logic. maybe i'm just too used to the FL studio piano roll. i can fly around in there.

looks like they're kind of hiding the environment as well. smart move.

........but i'm still sticking with xp/cubase. hopefully steinberg will drop the price now!

I dunno...this may be affect consumers adversely...I feel this sort of price indicates they may be working at a loss in an attempt to oust the competion.

It looks like they may care more about making money from hardware rather than software. Why no dongle ? It'll be on every warez site in a week.

Kind of difficult for Steinberg, Magix et al to compete at this price and continue to support their customers.

Also I don't see any dramatic updates apart from the price, loss of dongle, and most importantly, MARKETING.

Marketing? It's not even on the front page of apple.com.

Maybe you should look a little closer at the details on the site then.

I would have to say this release of Logic was the most underhyped software release I can remember. Apple didn't say a word about Logic for years. Not a word from them and people were still geeking for it. Damn, that's some good marketing. ha.

Marketing is more than advertising !

The loss of the dongle and aggressive price drop are clear marketing tactics.

Here for the gear

Although all the features sound great and i am drooling over them, but I am still a bit concerned on the issues introduced in 7...

hope the fixed the delay compensation..
hope there is a way to tune apple loops in cents not just in semitones..
hope it just doesn't crash randomly in certain situations.
hope they havn't introduced new au format to break all other plugins..

I may do the upgrade on my laptop but leave the studio machine alone.

it does look good on paper.
but I wonder how it works in the "real world".
Logic was never an application free of bugs.

Damn that marketing! I'd much rather pay close to 2k for Nuendo than get some actual value in my software.

LMAO, your straight hating now...if you don't see any dramatic updates then you obviously don't know logic or haven't seen the update.

sample accurate editing on the arrange page alone is a HUGE deal.
