128GB flash hard drives announced: death of the spinning platter? | APC Magazine

This looks seriously cool - no more moving parts, huge increase in battery times for your laptop and faster than any hard drive ever made.

I wonder how long before Apple get on the case?

Alienware are already shipping their top laptop with a DUAL 64Gb SSD option.

Yeah I can't wait to see the balance finally tip in the SSD's favour over traditional hard drives. Seems so clunky to have to rely on ancient spinning platters. I suppose it'll be a year or two before the prices get a little more realistic though.
