Never wanted to "upgrade" to OSX as most of the time OS9 is rock stable and none of the plugs (except UAD's Neve) for OSX would have convinced me to buy it. I rather grab a good freeware WIN plug and record it via SP/DIF...

Gear Nut
The last few years:

G4 Dual 1.25ghz (running Logic 7)
Not enough RAM
Not enough hard drive space
Some crappy M-Audio Delta something or other soundcard
Lots of pain and agony

As of next week: (all paid for.... just waiting for it to turn up!)

Mac Pro 3ghz Quad Core (running Logic 7)
5gb RAM
Over 1 terrabyte hard drive space
Apogee Ensemble
Hopefully no pain or agony!

It's gonna be quite the jump up!

I've also got (although rarely use it these days) a ProTools Mix Plus on another 1.25ghz G4 (still running OS9) with a couple of 888's.... still handy if I need to record lots of things at a time, which I still do occasionally. Although once I get around to getting another 8 ins and outs on the new Mac Pro, that won't be used anymore either!
