IR plugin for MAC UB! I'm desperate!

Hi everyone!

I'm searching for a impulse response reverb plugin (like SIR for PC).
But i need it for MAC UB.

I've been searching around now for quite a long time.

Altiverb doesn't work with the new cubase,
Wizzoverb is not UB
SIR ist just for PC
Virsyn Reflect just uses IRs for the early reflections...

Does anyone of you have an idea what plugin i could use?
All i want is load up a response file (i got quite a big library now from Lexicons etc.) with longer decays etc.

Please help!

thanks!

i use spacedesigner / logic, but found this (haven't tried):

LAConvolver 0.2.1 - Mac OS X - VersionTracker

LAConvolver

it's free, the user comment from there:
sonicraft I have tested LAConvolver in DP v5.12, and GB and it works perfectly as of version 0.2. The simple interface allows you to select separate impulse response files for multiple channels. I tested it with reverb IR's and it works beautifully. With the many excellent free impulse response files that are available, I was able to create a reverb that is comparable in quality to Altiverb ($595.00).

LAConvolver offers wet & dry gain controls. If you want to control other things, you can use other plug-ins either before or after in the signal chain. For example, insert a delay to control pre-delay, insert pre or post EQ or filters to control tone.

This is the first free convolution software that I have found that works for intel and PPC based machines. I have tested it on my macbook and on my G5 dual 2Ghz. Works like a charm. Simple to use!!!

Lernvall Audio has a real winner with LAConvolver. I was happy to send a small donation to support their efforts!!!!

Not yet, but soon...

Alesky of Voxengo fame is apparently porting his plugs to osx.

Pristine Space is not too expensive and sounds quite good. Hopefully it should be out this fall. 8 channel surround, yadda yadda.

Check the voxengo.com forums for more information and progress.

Well, he's been doing that for the last year or so ...

Try Origami from YellowTools ...... perhaps ......

Waves ...... (do not know about their VST-support status - well, it would be more a question about Steinbergs efforts with their great VST3)

hope that helps

I'm using McDsp Revolver with mostly my own IR's. It's not free, but it's not bad.

Cool, I didn't know that one yet.

Another option is to download Sonic Birth, which is freeware now. You can make your own plugins with it and with it is bundled a convolution element. And as an example plugin there's also a convolution reverb.

But downloading LAConvolver, just to have a reverb is easier...

Drawback of those 2 plugs is that you can't tweak the length of the verb. You can offcourse tweak the impulse in a wave editor if you want to shorten it...

Here for the gear

I've been using LAConvolver for a while

I've been using LAConvolver on my macbook for a while and it's good!

As for controlling length, I've got a nice selection of IR's of different flavors/lengths. I load the right IR for the job, then save the preset with a descriptive name. Presets are pretty essential for speeding up the selection process.

If you try to load a super-long IR, convolution will work the CPU pretty hard. But for normal reverb applications (or other design applications) LAConvolver has worked fine for me.

I'm sort of surprised LAConvolver hasn't made a bigger splash. It's a great freebie!!

but this LAConvolver.. sounds good? compared to space designer (is the one i'm using) and maybe is lighter for the cpu?

i'm impressed with TLSpace.. in protools.. is really lighter and NO LATENCY occurs
