ProTools Question

This may be a very long shot, but I figure I might as well try.

I'm trying to do troubleshooting for an audio lab. They are running a Power Mac G4 with ProTools LE 6.4. The interface is a Digi 001 and they have Mac OS X version 10.4.9. When attempting to open ProTools, it will not open and gives the error message that says "Digidesign hardware is in use by another application (-1133)."

I've researched the 001 and Digidesign says that LE 6.4 does not work with 10.4 at all, yet I've been told by those familiar with the lab that it worked just fine last week (as far as I know, they were running 10.4.x at that time), so it doesn't make sense.

Any ideas?

The 001 and 6.4 only run with Panther 10.3.x not 10.4.x.

Perhaps they have automatic update on so that something have installed since they had it running?

The highest Mac OS that Digidesign has qualified for PT LE 6.4 and Digi 001 is 10.3.4.

Yeah, as far as I can figure is that the OS used to be 10.3, but they were also running the latest version of Digital Performer on it and I can't imagine that it would run on 10.3 at all. I thought about them updating it without telling anyone, but it's odd that there was just one change on 10.4.9.

Any other ideas? Is there any reason any other program would run the card that the 001 uses to interface with the computer?

Would I do that in the Audio portion of the System Preferences?
