Going Optical

Hi all,

I'd like to connect a HD recorder to a computer via optical cable using one of these Hosa MFO-363B | Sweetwater.com . The recorder was originally formatted for 24 bit 96K operation, and all subsequent song files were recorded as such. I'm wondering if something like the Hosa (24 @ 48K) will still work. I can't seem to find any units at a sane price that do 24/96. The recorder uses 3 in/outs (8 tracks per channel), so I'll need a total of 4 patchpoints to patch and move 8 tracks at a time (2 of the Hosa bays would provide this). Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Best, Paul
