PC install?

I just bought a new motherboard with quad processors...etc
Does anyone have a step-by-step list of how to build and configure a PC for Audio use?

I need help in properly installing each part and then how to configure them for maximum performance. I'll be running XP sp2. Staring from scratch.

Any professional guidance would be GREATLY appreciated!

Here's an overview:

DIY PC - Assembly

This article aims to cover it all:

Both of these articles are more than a couple years old, though. But the basics remain the same.

... but there are jillions of sites devoted to builders out there that you should be able to find with a little smart googling.

thats a huge question asking someone to talk you thru it step by step

you can read or watch various tutorials but they arent gonna be the same procedure as your machine

assume you want to transfer the guts of current machine listed to new board/cpu?

is it going to be a nightmare to re-authorise all the plugs and s/w? (beyond the usual nightmares anyways)

anyways... fit board/cpu

add a boot ide drive.. install xp sp2

add remaining sata drives.. set boot order etc, tweak bios

tweak xp

add s/w & plugs

we've got some 'build' videos but they are all older and dont cover adding sata

if you dunno what you're doing i'd advise against trying it without some help
