cubase sx 2 changing overall volume level on heavily automated mix

ok here is the prpblem already have a fairly complex mix, some 70 or so audio tracks, tons of automation. Mix was done with programmed drums and now I want to add in the real drums as audio tracks and really want to reduce the overall level of the mix by a few db's to give me more headroom. Normally I would just link the channels and then deal with any automated tracks by selecting the automation and pulling it down the same amount of db's by hand.....however with so many automated tracks it's a recipe for disaster. Tried using the trim function which is a bit convoluted ie. having write on, on each channel, then setting the level of each channel at at beginning and end of arrangement. Is there no way of linking automated and non automated tracks? what do you guys do?

Just turn down your master fader..........

add another buss for drums and send to master...

there is 32 bit processing going on under the hood...the master
has so much head room before the output....

I know people say to make sure you mix with proper gain staging but
heck what are technological advancements for????

just turn down the master...it's ok...it wont hurt...I promise..

You may link the chaannels in the mixer too. Highligth the ones you want, rigth click and choose link. Whenever you move a fader the other will move the same way. Paaning too.

U sure about that gurubuzz? I had thought about doing that.....however thought that I might lose something in the process. Stag......yes I know about that but it only works if there is no automation on the tracks. Anyway cheers for replies. So just turn down the masterfader then?
