Digi003 recording latency

How is the latency when recording on a digi003?? Is is noticiable? I have an mbox 2 and its just rediculous trying to record vocals unless you have a mixer. I am hoping the digi003 is better or at least useable. If not I'm gonna suck it up and buy an HD system.

I have an 003R. At 64 or even 128 hardware buffer size, the latency is
not an issue. I was worried about that when I bought it , but it's been great.

If you have a macpro, then it is ok, if less it can be an issue depending on # of tracks, plugs, and VI's. I personally can't deal with vox at 128, but find 64 ok.

Unless you're tracking using VI's (and the buffer), low-latency monitoring completely negates this concern.

Here for the gear

I've been using 003Rack for a whole album's lead vocal/backing vocal tracking works. (Brauner&Jazz/BAE1073/Lavry Blue)
I'm using a Mac Pro and set the buffer to 64 samples, the vocal tracking session usually have more than 40 mono trackings playing, with reverb/delay/eq/compressors on, "low-latency mode" turned off.........and the cpu meter never goes up 25% thumbsup

The MBox 2 has direct monitoring - where's the problem there?
