No WAY !!! Intel Core 2 duo 3 ghz for $ 279

Hello.... this is great news !! What´s up with this ? just a few months ago the Core 2 duo 2.4 ghz was going for $ 310.... This new processor, with dual 3 ghz processors, and 1333 front side bus is only $ 279 !!! Is this the best bang for the buck , or what ? I´ve been waiting to upgrade my P4 3.4 ghz pc for over a year... is now the time to buy ? Thanks for any advice !!! Luke

P.S. here´s a link to latest cpu prices from sharky extreme.... Sharky Extreme

Intel had a big price cut 22 July.

For really bang for buck check this puppy out for the same price.

This quad core processor uses 4 2.4 processors... I wonder if Sonar would work faster with quad cores ? If I go with windows vista, and use sonar en 64 bit mode, I wonder if I should go with quad cores ??? anybody out there using quad cores ? I figured that two 3 ghz processors would be best since it uses a 1333 mhz fsb, and the new ddr3 memory......

Sonar supports 4 cores (or more), yes.
