Waves SSL gui problems

I'm having very strange display problems with just the SSL stuff, the graphics in the plug-in display box are all messed up.
Sometimes just putting an SSL plug in on a track will cause the computer to crash.

I have used the SSL plugins on this computer since Jan. 1 2007 with no problems until now.

What else has changed on your system recently? I just updated Pro Tools with the cs4 patch. I had been using ver. 7.3.1 I also installed a demo of the URS CSP on my system, which required me to update the ilok driver. I also updated my display driver after I started having trouble, thought that might help.

Does this happen on a specific session/or on all sessions (including a blank session)? It happens when you open the plug in to look at the settings. It will happen in all sessions, even blank ones. If you open a session that already had the SSL plugs on it. It will play as long as you do not click on the plugin to change the settings.

What is the buffer size of your session? I usually keep my buffer at 128, but this happens at all settings.

What is the sample rate of your session? 44.1k

Does this happen with all the components - Eq Channel and Comp? Yes

Anyone have problems like this? And if so...how did you fix it.

I think it's something related to my graphics card, an ASUS/NVidia GeForce 7600 GS. (ASUS EN7600GS SILENT/HTD/256M GeForce 7600GS 256MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 SLI Supported Video Card )

But like I said, I've used this with no problems since Jan. 2007.

Try updating your mainboard chipset drivers too.

i have the same problem in Mac OSX 10.4.8, Logic 7.2.3, usually 24/88.2.

talked to Waves ppl, they said OSX's QuickDraw is messed up.

no silver lining until Leopard comes, i guess...

strangely, WavesSSL never crashed in PT for me. 7.1.1 PTMP.

I may try the chipset drivers, but I don't want to create another problem...

This is why I hate doing updates....something always goes wrong.

should have let well enough alone

I have been in touch with waves, but no solution after a week.

I've had it set to 32 bit and still had the problem.

Things seem to get a little better if I increase my screen resolution to max.

Try setting your OpenGL and 3D Now settings to optimal performance. It cleared a similar problem for me.
