For people having trouble with their Firewire Audio Interface, this post is also at the bottom, but I thought it might be interesting to put up here:

i went to buy a 24 this weekend , the reflections from the new "gloss" screen (glass over the screen) blew ... maybe ok for music but for photo editing no way ..i think it would drive me crazy even music editing ..

Hows the new imacs working for everyone who bought one? Does it work alright with just 1 Hard drive?

I orderd one myself but its still on its way.

24 inch
2.8ghz duo core
4 gigs of ram
500gbHD

Im thinking of getting a firewire 800 drive to use as a audio drive. Has anyone tryed that? does it work well?

My I-mac 24" is working perfect with 002 and a FW800 mybook drive.
The only negative I can say is that the screen is almost to bright
But with good lightning in the studio it works great.

I didn't know that there were portable iMac cases. Very cool.

My new 24" seems to suffer overheating fairly easily. The back of the screen gets exceptionally hot and it seems to cause the display to to not been balanced as well as the odd few lock ups as well.

Anyone else?

Great topic

Isn't the new Imac a macbook Pro without a battery? (plus a bigger screen)
Ideal @location? (What I mean, the size is smaller then a desktop computer, it is transportable maybe even as handluggage.....)

I believe they use the same RAM so it wont surprise me if they use the same motherboard (maybe some things changed) but also, the iMac uses 7200 RPM disks so thats an enhancement.

A friend told me the screen surface is glas and behaves like a mirror - reflections all over.
Is that true?

Was wondering about the Imacs lately.

How has your new Imac been running?
Are you getting random shutdowns?
Are you running Logic without a hitch?
