Yes, there's an Apple Thunderbolt-to-FireWire-adapter and a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2-adapter, those two does it, I'm using these on a MacBook Pro with an MR816x and an N12. I'm still on High Sierra but according to Steinberg the drivers should work on Mojave, see
macOS 10.14 Mojave: Steinberg Hardware Compatibility – Steinberg Support
The same page says "
New TOOLS releases are planned for these models. Details will follow." (the models being MR816*).
The N8/N12 is no longer mentioned in the Steinberg documentation but let's hope the N8/N12 can share drivers with the MR816*-family also in the future.
(I'm considering buying an extra pair of Thunderbolt-to-FireWire-adapters as replacement spares, I assume they eventually will be discontinued by Apple, hopefully I can keep my MR816/N12 going much longer)
(I'm thinking that if/when the MR816-drivers are abandoned by Steinberg, something like the RME Digiface USB can keep the MR816* usable, the N12 is gone though)

I have a n12 and mr816csx running on mojave without issues. Actually haven't run the n12 yet since upgrading but never had any problems so long as I was on the latest firmware/driver.
