Mac CPU cores Unevenly Loaded

The System:

Pro Tools 11
Mac Pro 5,1 with two 12-core CPUs
Mac OS 10.10.5
Small session of 2 stereo files of dialog, so a small number of plugins.

The problem:
The the processing is so unevenly distributed amongst cores on the CPUs that I often get 100% processing peak on one core while most of them remain at 0% (see attachments).

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Try spreading your plugins out across multiple channels/Aux busses. For example if you have a lot of processing on your Master channel, create a couple premaster busses and spread the plugins out amongst those. If I recall correctly Protools can only allocate the resources of one channel to a single core. Also try increasing your disc cache in the playback settings.
