Sugar vs. FireMaster

Hi there.

I´m testing the trials of both plugins right now and dig them both. I told myself "Don´t be a slut, buy just one of them" and seriously it´s a tough choice. Didn´t make up my mind so far and would be interested to hear the opinion of you sluts.

For the ones not knowing those two babies:

Can't say anything about firemaster. Never heard of it, but I have and use sugar and it is great.

A fast examine of the firemaster gives me the impression sugar is more versatile.

I don't have either, but looking at their manuals and site descriptions, I really like that the Sugar manual has a signal flow diagram, and is basically more descriptive about what the plugin is actually doing. It's a spectral effects processor apparently.

Firemaster seems less descriptive about what it is. It seems from my reading that it is a bass EQ into a stereo widener into a treble EQ into saturation, but it's hard to tell at the same time.

Sugar uses iLok while Firemaster uses the MeldaProduction keyfile type of protection.

Also, I keep seeing Greg Wells plastered on the product pages of many of these types of plugins. Is he a paid endorser of these products?

Okay, found my answer. Both are really, really top notch plugins in my ears. Thanks to the developers, you're spot on.

It's going to be Sugar. As I do quite different musics it's more versatile for me.
