Windows vs Apple usb clock stability

Can anybody enlighten me on why the Ableton USB clock output from an old Mac cheese grater to an Analog Rytm 2 is 100% stable, whilst the output from a fairly recent and high spec windows PC is not?

What is it about how Apple handles the USB protocol differently to windows that causes this?

Please no 'because Apple is just better' answers thanks...

I don't know what the differences are, but there is some conjecture that if the audio/midi interface is not usb (PCIe or Thunderbolt) it could be solid. Or perhaps if the interface's driver is designed very well (RME perhaps?)? Or maybe if nothing else is sharing the particular usb bus?
