Time Stretching Algorithms

Hi,

I'm doing a research project and I'm trying to compare different time-stretching/pitch-shifting techniques that different DAWs and software use (say, what kind of algorithm does Ableton, Logic or Reason use for time-stretching).

The documentation regarding these details, on the manufacturers' websites, is not particularly comprehensive...

Would anyone know about where I could find some information or knows anything about this?

Thanks!

Most every daw maker uses Elastique. They license the code from zplane and then modify features/gui to their personal needs.

iZotope products include their own time-stretching algorithm, and at least Cakewalk Sonar used to license that (but it might have changed since Bandlab took over, I don't know).

How can you get that into a DAW?

Pretty sure its still protools only.
They used to sell an LE version of the algo in logic, but it was only accessible through logic’s audio editing window. Back In logic 8 and 9.
Edit: they still do sell the LE version!
As I remember it, it has basically zero features though. It simply pitches and/or time stretches.
