Apollo twin mkii VS apollo x6 that much better?

hi I'm know about to purchase one of these two.... I've changed my whole system to MAC MINI 2018 i7 64gb ram and I have a hard time to decide
between twin Mk2 (TB2)
Apollo X6 (TB3)
does the 1200$ difference worth it?
if not I could buy mkii and get plugins with that money...
if u have both please share your experience

Do you need more inputs and outputs than the twin has to offer?

You should consider the Arrow. It's Thunderbolt 3 so it will plug into your new mac without an adapter. Seems like the differences are pretty stark! Do you need the I/O on the X6? That's really the question. Answer that and you'll know.

I need 4 mono 1 STEREO for my synth and 1 mic In witch is why I was looking at these
option

option 1
twin mk2 (used) +behringer 8200 (adat) for estra in for my synth

option 2
Apollo 8 mk2 ( same price as above and all the function in one box)
TB2

option 3
apollo x6 (new)
twice the price of a used Apollo mk2
with all the io's & functions I need...
TB3

thats why I want to be sure that price tag deference is justifiable...

Is sound quality any importance? I only ask because x6 is a step up from the twin (although both are great sounding).

To answer your question though, if I were in your shoes I’d get the x6..seems like it checks all your boxes. I’ve learned that it’s better to have more IO than less. You’ll appreciate the flexibility down the line. Trust me

Any ideas what Twin X / MkIII will bring? TB3? Maybe bus-power like Arrow?

This is nice timing as I'm bout to downsize from a Fireface 802 and was thinking a Twin duo might fit the bill... but I was looking into saving a bit going used.

RME has been great but I just don't need something so big anymore.

I have the original Babyface which I purchased in 2009 and use with my secondary set up. Works great but looking for an upgrade. The new Twin could be the ticket.

Here's hoping for improved specs, TB3 and 6 DSP chips. Slightly more IO would be nice too.
