New Apple Mac mini?

Hey Gearslutz!!

I'm considering the new Apple Mac mini with the higher available configuration
(3.2GHz 6‑core 8th‑generation Intel Core i7 (Turbo Boost up to 4.6GHz)
64GB of 2666MHz DDR4
512GB PCIe-based SSD storage
10 Gigabit Ethernet)

for recording and mixing using Pro Tools, and for arranging using libraries with Pro Tools as well. Anyone has tried it can recommend if it's a good buy? Also, I've heard that those units have noise but I don't know if that's correct or not.

Thank y'all!

That would be a great rig. Possibly even overkill depending on your needs. I have a new Mac mini with an i5 and 32 meg. ram and it so far has not broken a sweat in pretty heavy mixing.

Just installed the same box today, except I got 32gig of ram, which should be enough for me. Love all the ports on it.

Screaming system. Exhausted from all the transfers and passwords, so tomorrow I'll be hooking up the new Apollo x8 (TB3). Wish me luck (Running DP10)

Got the Magic Trackpad and keyboard. Gotta get used to the trackpad as it behave a bit differently than my laptops trackpad. Single finger on it when moving around helps, else it gets confused and gets clunky.

So wild this tiny computer is smaller than my old firewire drives.

Bought some nice SS G Drives too.
