TBolt 3 to FW? Really? No docks will do it?

I more or less know the answer already but am hoping I missed something. Our OWC previous generation TB3 dock, with a FW800 port, croaked. OWC not only threw out any stock they had of these but they don't even acknowledge they ever existed. Must have been a painful experience for them. Anyway, literally no one else has a FW port on their TB3 dock. OK, fair enough. And I'm fairly certain that once the TB3 docks came out OWC was the only one, albeit short lived, with a FW port.

It looks like, and I hate to use *literally* so soon again but what else works?, using Apple's TB3 to TB2 $49 adapter with the Apple TB2 to FW adapter is the only option on the planet to attain this, that you can't even throw more money at it and solve it with any other $300 widget in existence.

Are there really zero other ways to do this?

StarTech has a lot of converters. They can get pricey but if you are in a bind . . .

I use a TB3 to TB2 adapter and then a TB2 to Firewire adapter.

I agree it is a massive pain in the port (SWIDT!) but it does work.

This ^^ It doesn't exactly look pretty, but it's the only practical solution nowadays.

Same here. Using Apple dongles it works perfectly in either Macs or Windows computers.
