what annoys me about Omnisphere 2.6

omnisphere is my favourite plug in.
(so its not like i hate it)

what i like about it is that they sampled expensive high end synthesizers.
those sounds are the reason i use omni.

whats not so great are the TONS of sample free synth patches,

it seems like they added a TON of sample free synth patches and they mostly sound like any old garbage software synth to me.
im sorry i know there are exceptions but come on..

when you click through the patches of any random software synth without samples, patch after patch its all garbage.

with omni's sampled patches it was like 1 amazing sound after the other.

i wish i could hide factory patches manually, or sort out the synth ones

i am just baffled that that never came up in their decision making process with the updates.

its like they act like their virtual synth is so great that nobody would ever think these patches are any different than the REAL good ones..

whats gonna be the next update, 1000 more bad patches to clog up the browser ?
let me hide them at least :/

+1. The search engine should have a "sample based" / "synthesis based" tag !

Best Synth Hands Down !!

As for the list as you are saying it's really really annoying ... I star my favourite patches so I can recall them easily

I wouldn't say that the non-sample-based patches are garbage.

Guys I am an owner of Omnisphere but I never sampled or tried any Hardware synth before or even heard the sound ... how close are the sounds of Omnisphere hardware library to the real hardware synths ?

No, neither would I.

Even if OmniSphere is not the best "pure" synthesiser out there, it does a good job at it; it's worth keeping in mind, at least this is the way I understand and use it, that synthesis is best used in OmniSphere in conjunction with the samples, using the layers to beef up and enrich the overall patch sound.
