Anyone catch any new control surfaces?

Any new control surfaces kicking around NAMM?

Companies like to make them so ugly these days. Just gimme 8-16 clean faders made by Bentley and I’ll rest easy.

They are working on it...
I guess the new surface will have to be under annual subscription fee, that will allow us to use it in full if the plan is current. After the plan lapse, you can only use the faders with automation disabled. There will be new "Automation packs" to purchase if you want to enable that functionality for a current project.

Avid is full of brilliant ideas these days....

Lol! Would be even funnier if there wasn’t a possibility that something like this could be true.

Everything can be true for Avid, since the turning point of announcing "Voice Packs" for ProTools Ultimate. A software product that costs $2499 for a perpetual license and on top a $399 annual fee, after the first year. In 2019, their idea is to sell "Voice Packs" and market it as a feature...

Avid wins the award for: The company that is completely out of touch with reality 2019!

Congrats to their new CEO, what a great break through!

Get a Presonus Faderport (new version) and call it a day. Simple, cheap and it works.

I’m not a fan of how squeezed together the faders are. Unless you mean the single fader one. That’s on my list but that single fader Icon looks much better. Aesthetic is pretty important to me when it comes to faders.

Sounds good. Just thought I'd offer that up. I'm not so picky on that part. Good luck!

Not even a single knob for each channel? I would like to have more than one. But I like that it is more compact than many other.

The Faderport functionality within Studio One is incredible!
It loses a lot of that functionality with Protools.
I know that the S3 is a big investment but after trying several surfaces including the Faderport and Artist Mix, it's won out for me. It still has its weaknesses but it feels like the best option. The build quality is rock solid.

Does the interface section now work with High Sierra/Mojave?

Actually it’s not but I’m streamlining my studio to be more writing focused and I actually don’t automate that much with my artist mix. The one fader icon dealy will look really nice next to that new akai advance 49

Can you expound on the advantages of using it with S1 vs Pro Tools?

There are several keys on either side of the fader bank that are perfectly laid out for S1. VCA, Group, Aux etc. and they make getting around a large session a breeze. Some of these buttons work for PT and some don't (It's been a while since I had the unit and it's possible that it has been updated with better integration). The biggest problem for me was that the Faderport needed to run on HUI.
I find HUI to be laggy and buggy. The 6 character display limit is a deal breaker for me.
