My digital piano delays when using vst

I use a Roland Digital piano (FP4) connected to Sonar DAW and have no trouble with latency when composing via MIDI. If I try to use a synth (VST) I experience a delay of a few milliseconds.
I recently saw a straight controller using VST without any delay. Can I use my digital piano with VST without this delay?

Depends on your audio interface and it's settings.

Has nothing to do with the keyboard. Its 100% the computer and its interface (and interface settings).

So, yes, you can use that DP....the question is can you use your computer and interface? Set the buffer in Sonar(or you 8nterface’s control panel) to 128 samples. See if the problem is solved.
