Audio interfaces (power)

Does anyone here know why certain audio interfaces need to be powered on before the computer? Is there any workaround to this? Once windows is loaded, I turn on the audio interface and then the interface is not recognized. However, with a restart it becomes recognized. It is an annoyance more than anything and I would love to know any other way to get it working. Thanks!

1. what interface do you have?
2. why not simply switching it on first?
3. it may be that drivers and/or software are not 100% plug n play capable
4. interfaces which are connected to a PCI/PCIe host card do need to be powered on, otherwise the host card cannot pass the correct device ID to the driver.

Because they are not class-compliant! No workaround, some work in a minimal setting as for example the Focusrite Forte.

It's a Keith Mcmillen K-mix. Sometimes the unit is not recognized even if I switch it on first. Is there a fix for this?
