AES-32 into digidesign 192 i/o .....will this work?

I am purchasing a RME aes-32 card to interface my pc-nuendo setup with a mac pro-tools hd3 setup that has two 192 i/os. Has anybody used this to success and if so, anything I need to know/watch out for? it all seems fairly simple 2 dsub cable setup but I'm just worried I overlooked a detail. Also, in 16/16inout setup, will I be limited to 48khz or can I do 96 just as easily?

And which cables would I need? Would simple radio shack 25-pin male-male do the trick? I know the pinmappings are correct but I have had a hard time finding simple non-breakout cable I can order quickly and cheaply. This is just basically printer cable....right?

Any tips appriciated.
