Have you tried all slots, including the "graphics" slot?

Here for the gear

Hi guys, first time poster here

I followed the UAD2/Ryzen thread very closely and I can tell you the following:

I've just built a new system:

-Asus PRIME X470 PRO (BIOS: 5204)
-Ryzen 3900x
-64 GB Corsair Vengeance
-RME Fireface UCX
-AMD Radeon RX 560 4 GB (sitting in PCIe Slot 4, the second big one)
-UAD2 DUO in PCIE1, UAD2 SOLO in PCIE2

IT WORKS!

I tried an Asrock Taichi X570 before, no luck with the UAD cards.
Maybe this is helpful for some of you.

Lives for gear
I checked through this thread and have not seen anyone else using a PCIe 2.0 device on an X570 motherboard, except the one poster who said their UAD-2 Solo wouldn't work.

I also haven't found a definitive statement that the PCIe 4.0 slots on the X570 do properly 'downshift' to work with PCIe 2.0 devices. I certainly hope I simply missed this essential compatibility statement. It came up as an issue as I'm considering a couple of PCIe 2.0 10-Gigabit Ethernet NICs for lashing together my 2010 Mac Pro with my soon-to-be built X570-based machine.

Is anyone successfully using PCIe 2.0 devices on an X570 motherboard?

This thread is possibly watched less than the Ryzen threads or the PC-build threads, so your question might get more views there...just a suggestion...

Interesting, i had no luck with the previous bios on that board or a b450 prior to the AB rev, so may be that any 4 series board with that AGESA will work. Hope it doesn't break again with the next update.

Just an idea for those who are really desperate: if you cannot get your UAD card to work, install it on an (old) Intel PC and use Vienna Ensemble Pro on that PC. Connect that PC to your AMD system with a network cable and then you should be able to use the UAD plugins on your AMD PC using the VEP plugin.

Was this before or after the ABBA update? There's just been an ABBA bios released for my B450 A Pro which improves boost & fixes the rand issue, but I'm a bit wary of updating a working system.
