Liquid 56 idle channels

Hi,

I own a Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56.
I have this weird problem where some channels drop in volume all of a sudden. Almost like a gate kicks in, letting only the louder sounds pass. Also the sound becomes distorted and there's a very high noise level.
This can happen at any given moment, even during recording.

When I turn the gain of that specific channel all the way up the channel 'wakes up' and is good to go again. Or a little tap on the microphone can do the trick as well.
Like it needs a shaking up, in the form of a loud input, to become active again.

Any idea what this can be?
