I screwed up Sample rate

Hello all,

So I recorded a track with my hardware set to 48k and Cubase 9 was set up for a 44.1k project. So not the audio is printed at 48k but cubase thinks its 44.1 which is presenting problems.

I made this mistake many years ago in Sound Forge and I was able to rectify it by going into the file properties and editing the file attributes to list the correct sample rate.

If I look at the file outside of Cubase it is listed as 48k. But in the audio pool of Cubase 9 it is listed as 44.1.

Is there a way to tell Cubase 9 it is a 48k file?

Or is there another fix?

I tried resampling, exporting and re-importing but am having no luck.

thanks

Have you tried creating a brand new project @ 48k and importing there the original files?

I did but cubase still thinks the files are 44.1

even tried exporting the files at 48 and re-importing them into a new 48k session
no luck

also tried exporting the files individually audio mixdown bounce at 44 and re-importing them into a new 44 session
no banana

thank you

If iles are recognized as 48kHz outside of Cubase it should be pretty easy to import them into Cubase as 48kHz (and convert to 44,1)
Try to create new project in different location (folder) than project you recorded it in and then import them.
You can also try to change the names of the files - Cubase might have file properties for all your files (media library scans audio files)

greetings

Can you share one of the clips I'd like to see what Pro Tools thinks of it

Cubase normally recognizes the external clock of the hardware soundcard. Is your cubase sync on external or internal?

Cubase is set to work clock

Prism ada8-xr is my master clock and symphony is slaved to that

So the fix for this stupid blunder is to relabel the file attributes
meaning the file needs to know what sample rate it was actually recorded at in the attributes or all hell breaks loose.

I imported the files into Sound Forge 6 hahaha
and in the file properties you can change the sample rate(not file conversion) to 48 now the file has the proper rate embedded.

I just re-imported them into a 48k session, works fine now.

My initial question was if this could be done within Cubase but I dont believe it can although I think it can be done in wavelab.
