Chain converters

I have a profire 2626 that has the heaviest bottom end I have heard in a converter and I love for drums and bass buss I want some else to add for highs and mids. Is it possible to have say a Apollo 8 as my main Converted for recording and playback but chain the profire to the Apollo or SSL Alphalink? The Profire had S/pdif and ADAT optical ports but I nothing about this. Would I need another external piece of equipment to tie the two to my DAW?

Only if the ProFire works in standalone mode. Otherwise you can't have 2 audio interfaces connected to a Windows PC. If it works in standalone mode you can connect it via Adat and it will show up as extra inputs/outputs in the Apollo.

So in Protools the Apollo will be the converter used but the profire IO will show up as Apollo.

The Profire will just show up as additional inputs/outputs in the Apollo. Again, the Profire has to operate in standalone mode or you won't be able to do this.
