Pro Tools issue with popping on playback/stop

Hi everyone. I am having an issue with my system where upon playback and stopping I get some slight but noticeable popping and crackling. I am in Pro Tools 12, running HD Native Thunderbolt. A year or so ago I switched to a Mac Trash Can with 64GB memory, relegating my older Mac Tower and HD Native PCI-e to my B setup. It was when I introduced the new setup that I began to notice the crackling. It is not an issue with cables, my speakers, or the equipment in my playback or monitoring, as I have painstakingly tested all of these. I don't think its a clocking issue either. I am running an Avid 16x16 with 3 192's daisy chained and sync'd. I pulled out the 192's and did a test listening with only the Avid and the problem persisted.

Though I consider myself an accomplished engineer and songwriter with some technical knowledge (I designed and wired my facility) my knowledge and troubleshooting have not been able to solve issue and I'm out of ideas. I'd really like to hear from you guys on some advice on getting things sorted or on what it could be, as I have some big gigs coming up and this is a full time job for me. Thanks
