Focusrite or Motu ?

Hi all, I've been happily using a Focusrite Pro 14 for a long time now, it has and does all I need, I rarely record and playback more than two tracks at once. But, a friend has just given me his Motu 828 MK11 and I'm tempted to use that instead. I have been thinking of mixing through an external mixer, and the Motu would allow me to route more DAW tracks out to my mixer, so that may be useful. However, I'm worried about potential issues with the Motu and my Mac, it's an i Mac running Mavericks, i 7 16 RAM.
The Focusrite has been great, I don't want to cause any problems unecassarily.
I'm also a bit worried, on the Motu site there are two packages to download, and I'm confused as to which is the right one?
