USB A/D with 12-16 Line Inputs, 2-4 Preamps?

Question USB A/D with 12-16 Line Inputs, 2-4 Preamps?

Any recommendations for A/D that satisfies those requirements? I'm primarily tracking synths in my apartment studio but need a few preamps on hand for bass, guitar, scratch vocals, etc. I don't have a set budget, but I'm looking for value.

If that's with USB for connection to computer, than it's not A/D, but an USB audio interface. 16-20 simultaneous inputs is quite a lot.

Value is highly personal thing.
If you wan't some classy thing with perfect parameters and great drivers, then I would say go for RME 802 and possible additional ADAT converter (if you really want all that connected at once).. It's pricey, but it's long term and trouble-free solution. Similarly for example combo of MOTU 16A and some external preamp.

For something more affordable with such number of I/Os, you might look at Focusrite 18i20 expanded by Focusrite Octopre II.
Tascam does their US 20x20, which it only single affordable device, which might fit the requirement, but I don't have any experience with those boxes.

Finally, Antelope makes their Zen Studio or Orion Studio, but it might be in $2500+ range.
