FXPansion Geist2 (my main drum on every track)
MeldaProduction Saturator (good ****)
Empirical Labs Arouser (best compressor itb, fast and easy)
Sidewidener (stereo expansion)
Dune 3 VST (pulsewidth thick poly synths)
Dmitri Sechs Thorn (mono leads)
SSL Channel Strip (fine tuning in final mixing)
Decapitator (best distortion)
GullFoss (master fixer)
Diamond EQ (high bands on master)

special mentions:

softube Weiss limiter is the best limiter that I've tried. change my mind. I prefer it to FabFilter from what I understand
AlexB MFC in N4
elysia alpha compressor on master to add a tiny bit of mojo and control
DynamicSpectrumMapper on individual instruments is ****ing god-tier and underrated. automatic level up in sound
Airwindows collection: if you come to understand this stuff it can help you rapidly to achieve good results
Chromophone - dayum girl, this thing can make some good sounds if you use it right

I'll never understand why anyone likes the SoundToys Little Plate. I find it the most bland, inflexible reverb ever. Am I the only one?

BTW I own and love several other SoundToys products (Decapitator, Phase Mistress, Tremolator)

I absolutely love LittlePlate
It has a nice blend of a typical “ideal” plate reverb algorithm and vibey metallic spring sounds
I use it a lot
But with additional eq after it
Alone it’s kinda dark for modern music
But with tilt eq it became more contemporary

You're not alone. Compare it to RS Transatlantic Plate and the difference is not subtle. Lustrous Plate (Slate) is also much better imo.

Then compare either to TimP's Nebula (EMT 140) and realise what you're really missing :¬)

I've actually found Little Plate to work well with other reverbs. The metallic ring is kinda cool.... Transatlantic Plate and SP2016 are the real combo that works for me. VVV is great for other colors and spaces......Spoiled for choices!

little plate is okay but for what it is, the CPU hit is way too heavy.

In terms of ultimate quality (settings) and deep flexibility. In terms of ease of use no way at all imo. It's the difference between a Ferrari or a Lamborghini if you currently drive a skoda. I wouldn't loose any sleep over the differences.

i would say people are mostly listing the plug ins they get the best results from, not the ones that are the highest possible quality or have the most options, though they might think otherwise. who knows.

It really depends on what you want to use it for. So if you don 't like plate reverbs, you won 't be happy with this kind of reverb, and better use something more "standard" like Lex PCM or Eventide, or else. For boogie & blues, the little plate is really amazing, just like a time travel to the sixities, or seventies. I would never use it for modern piano, or classical stuff, but when you love plates, you love little plate

I'll bite.

1. Fabfilter Saturn. This one does so much, it's indispensable.
2. TDR Nova EQ - great de-esser and much more.
3. BX Opto - lovely compressor with frequency specific internal sidechain.
4. Vladgsound Limiter No6 - limits without degrading the signal.
5. Sonimus SonEQ Pro - this is what I use first on Toms & Overheads. The Pultec low-end trick works great with this EQ.
6. Camelspace - I'll never get rid of this. Autopan feature helps lift background details out of the mix.
7. Ozone RX7 Elements - not all the audio I get is in great shape. RX7 fixes a lot of issues.
8. Reaper's Video Processor - for doing all my YouTube video editing.
9. Soniccharge Echobode - can do some freaky things, but I like the basic delay/echo.
10. Klanghelm VUMT Duo - for setting a target PPM and adjusting track levels.
