Some Mac tools for recent issues

Had some issues lately and learned a couple of things that are worth passing on.

Machine 1, recent iMac 27", a number of applications were acting flakey and system was having issues rebooting. Turns out the Fusion drive was going bad! Sometimes what seems like software can be a hardware issue!

Machine 2, similar build and issues. Absolutely no hardware issues but an OS Recovery (internet based re-install) solved it

Tools to know

Using Apple Diagnostics

On newer machines you can test the hardware by rebooting and Holding Command D

OS X Internet Recovery, you can keep your drive, data and apps intact but reinstall the OS from the Internet by rebooting and holding Command R
