Has any work been done on GPU-accelerated audio processing?

I don't know too much about the extreme ins and outs of computer processing with respect to whether or not an idea like this is complete bunk, but intuitively it seems to me that GPU processing could benefit audio in many different ways, mostly having to do with providing a better real-time experience (such as shaving away on tracking latency).

Are there any resources that do a good job of elaborating on whether or not this is feasible?
