is that ground loop?

hey, having noises from both monitors after connecting the TRS XLR cable.
you can try and hear the problem here:

im using Komplete audio 6 and HS8 with balanced cable (i hope so...thats what the guy at the store said).
the pc and the monitors are on the same wall socket.
when i open on the computer a havy software the noises change....
does anyone know how can i solve it?

edit:
just adding that - when connecting the monitor power cable and turning them on does not show the problem, only after connting the xlr.
BUT - if i connect the monitor to a 2 pin with no ground power cable, and connting the xlr, there are no noises.

You might want to think about getting one.Have you tried plugging one of the 2 into an outlet on another circuit? You could also try a 3 to 2 prong adapter that lifts the ground for a temporary fix.

Did you try another outlet or the ground lift adapter?

Did you get 'balanced' TRS cables?

My KRK Rokitt 5 powered studio monitors had started to hum a while back, although they were find for a handful of years before that. I've not used them in a while, was thinking about trying balanced TRS cables. But I think it may be the monitors themselves. Will have to experiment without even connecting speaker cables 1st.

^ Ah!

Although my KRK's do have XLR's, I have nothing XLR to feed them, so I'll have to try balanced TRS cables.
