Plug in file type error?

ok this is probably pretty lame but..

i just upgraded to a G5 and have been reinstalling all my plugs. it seems the free "Ambience" reverb by Smartelectronix has become unrecognizable by my system. I checked on both my older systems and it appears as a UNIX exectuable file on them as well. (but was working fine last week) When i download the file..it is supposed to be VST but it is not...what am i missing? there must be something simple...

i know it is a free plug in and shouldn't be a big deal..but i have 4 mixes due by mid next week which all need that plug very badly..and until i can afford to buy a better reverb..i'm stuck with it or D-verb (ick)

help please?

is it possible that an new Mac update screwed something up? My previous system was isolated from my network and had not received any updates in a while. Its would make sense that now it too is not reading that file type..
hmmm?

anyone else with a mac having trouble with Ambience?
