Informative vids explaining how digital signals REALLY work

Fellow Slutz, I came across this video by one of the creators of Ogg/Vorbis, Chris Montgomery:

Xiph.Org Video Presentations: Digital Show & Tell

It give very clear "Demonstrations of sampling, quantization, bit-depth, and dither explore digital audio behavior on real audio equipment using both modern digital analysis and vintage analog bench equipment".

In a nutshell, "HD audio" is... well, a gimmick. For listening, we don't need anything beyond 16-bit / 44.1 kHz audio, which is the standard CD quality we've known and loved for so long.

I thought it would make some interesting viewing for how we approach recording, and clear up a lot of the... well... wishful thinking... that we come across on these forums as well as others.

Science!
