RTAS Mac - Bpm matching Sidechain Compressor

Hi there,

Looking for an RTAS compressor for mac for side chain compression.

Is there any dynamics utility to give a pump effect on dance music that matches bpm?

I'm sure I seen around a lot of dynamics tools for this.

I found elysia m pressor the best one for me, but is there any other good alternative that matches bpm?

Thanks

Waves H Comp can match bpm. Waves also has one in their "one knob" series (pumper I believe) that should give you that effect. There's also one from hornet that is made specifically for that purpose. I'm sure there's others that can do it.

I agree with you though the m pressor is my favourite for that effect. Really grabs the sound.

Don't have an answer, but it's VERY simple to convert BPM to ms and achieve the same result.

Eg: 140 BPM : 60 ÷ 140 x 1000 = 428.5ms

Then just keep dividing it or multiplying it to get the pumping faster or slower. Use the built in Dyn3 within PT and away you go.

For 4x4 pumping you in PT you can use the bundled plugin AIR Filter Gate.

Set Filter "Off", Attack and Hold both 100%, Release 0% and rate "1/4"

Not really an issue if you use a compressor that doesn't induce latency.

There's a lot that fall into that basket.
