EastWest composer cloud free trial -- thoughts

Received a promo from EastWest (sponsored by SoS) for a free month trial for Composer Cloud. 'Great!' I think. I click-thru the link.

Let me state up front, this is not sour grapes because I can't afford the monthly subscription fee. EW is free to set a fee commensurate to quality/labor involved in context of market demand. Charge $1/month, charge $100... more power to 'em.

EW's complete plan is $30/month (unlimited libraries). More than worth it in my eyes, but my enthusiast workflow simply doesn't need that much. Could I afford that? With a lot of hemming and hawing, and with great reluctance, **maybe**... but at $360/year, that's a piece of gear. Simply to have access to a lot of libraries I will never use. A $30 plan simply doesn't make sense.

There's a $15 student plan (7 libraries). This makes much more sense for my workflow, and I could do the subscription fee without a hitch. Except I'm not a student.

I'd really love to see a 'starving artist' tier. Keep it at $15/month, but cut it down to 2 or 3 libraries. Something. Anything. Having only a pro and student plan seems to exclude a lot of hobbyists and enthusiasts.

Here's my bottom line -- I really only want Ghostwriter. It's 50% off for the month of August at Sweetwater, JRR and other sites. For $200, I'll have the library I really want and have no 'hook' to lure me into EW's subscription plan.

Am I missing something? What're your thoughts?

Cloud: means you aren't in control. You are at the mercy of connection/ISP, server, etc.etc. = why would anybody want that? Bad enough if it doesn't work 100% if you're on your own, really bad if you're with a paying client. Lethal if you're on a deadline.

If I want a library, I will buy it. I'm not spending a dime on software rentals.
