Windows 7 / Ableton 9 and Touchscreen

I'm wondering if anyone has any feedback on the following:

I currently run Ableton 9 on an i7 950 OC'ed to 3.8gHz, 12GB RAM, 4 256GB SSDs and use a 32" upright monitor. What I would like to do is to have a touchscreen that lies flat (or at a slight angle) on the desk in front of me, and that would allow me to move the mixer window down to the touchscreen and control it with fingers instead of a mouse. So a couple of questions:

1. Anyone doing anything like this on Windows 7?
2. Will this idea work with Ableton 9
3. If yes to 1 & 2 - any recommendations on the hardware?
4. Any other suggestions, tips?

TIA
