Meters useless while revording

Just noticed while monitoring a vocal while recording there is a huge delay in the meter and or it doesn't reflect the level properly. Is there a setting somewhere I'm missing?

Hello

Which meter ? mixing window or meter window ?
I always have some tracks in record enable mode (or input mod) due to my workflow, as meter window open not far to monitor HW output and input, never notice anything special, the only "complain" I have about meter is the ballistic and ref not settable.
I'm still in 9.52
