I'm thinking of adding a DPO to my setup.

I'm thinking of adding a DPO to my setup.

Not just a "Complex Oscillator" in a broad sense, but the DPO in particular. It would be my first Complex Oscillator, fwiw.

For those that have one, how do you like it?

If you had one and moved on, please explain.

Amd of there's one you prefer to the DPO, please elaborate.

Thanks.

My experience with complex oscillators is admittedly kinda limited, but the DPO is one I like. In general I find Make Noise stuff to be kind of cold and inorganic, even when they use analog circuitry, but it's not a bad thing. The DPO is wild like a razor blade tied at the end of a string being swung around in circles. It ain't pretty and it will certainly **** up your day in a very fun way. My other complex oscillators are Shapeshifter (though I really think this one only barely counts) and Loquelic Iteritas. LI gets a lot of my love for its wicked character, but the DPO can go deeper and has more variety. Heresy though it may be, I find the Shapeshifter kind of unexciting. *shrugs not drugs*

Oh damn.

I wasn't even thinking of it as an LI like module (tonally) but you pulled some gnarly right out of that and have made me rethink my priorities here.

Thanks. Very interesting.

There's a lot of complex oscillators along the same lineage: DPO, 259e, Hertz Donut, LI (and Percido obviously), Shapeshifter, the Verbos one, Freak, Trident, and probably a ton of others I'm missing. Complex oscillators are wicked awesome.

Must have !

I think DPO is an essential module to have.
Dual VCO , separate v/oct ins , six outputs , many inputs and covers pretty much every sound you can think off.
From warm to fat to harsh and thin.

Never found a complex osc I really liked, so I'm creating my own: 2 oscs (very detuned) and a wavefolder. If I had to choose it'd be Verbos.

I hate Derp's new avatar. Love Nick though. Derp is nice though.

I think I only have one oscillator that isn’t a
complex one.
