Thank you so much dear Brickman!

@ Summer Of Nebula :
Indeed, we are

Only officially registered, Eurorack manufacturer with a company registration (since 2012) in Vienna as far as we know too

Here's a Gearslutz video from Dutch Modular Fest 2018 btw.:

Birdkids makes great stuff... but after looking at the semimodular landscape, this seems very limited/basic for that price range. Two VCO, One Filter, Two VCA for $740 USD? I guess it's comparable to buying individual modules... but compared to Neutron, Mother32, Dreadbox stuff... it just doesn't scream excitement for me.

Good luck with it Mike

Dont think the price is out of line with similar(ish) dual oscillator modules like the Furthrrr Generator, Make Noise DPO.
The sound is the thing that stands out to me, I'd pay Macbeth/Cwjeman prices for that sound.

Maybe I misread the Raven description... is it a Dual VCO or a Complex VCO? Cause DPO and Furthrrr were the type of modules that made me think... hmmm... as those are Complex VCOs with waveshapers, fold circuits, cross modulation matrix, etc. Dual VCOs are just 2 in 1 without all that extra stuff. No?

Dont think the Raven has waveshaping, it has cross mod and a filter. I guess we'll have to wait until its out in the wild to see if it has as diverse a sonic palette as the complex oscillators.

Thank you, dear Brickman.

Indeed sound, build-quality and performance-oriented design are the primary experiences we're going for.
And we've been compared to the brands you've mentioned by our clients in the past, and I guess there are good reasons why.

As far as our mission objective @ spiderman , it was never to compete with getting most stuff at a price point, but getting the best goddamn analog synth-voice at the most affordable price by bypassing distribution/retail for the campaign backers. You would have to pay quadruple (see above) to get similar build quality and sound characteristics.

So basically it was about mutual benefit for those who'd back the first batches.
We don't do anything comparable, batch-size wise to the companies you've listed. We couldn't if we wanted to, because the amount of time that goes into those designs and the assembly/calibration would necessitate a completely different company structure, one that cuts corners everywhere possible. Not to mention, does not produce original products.

With that in mind, we aim for financing a small batch run, and the rest would go according to the flow of things, time is of no matter - it's all about the sound

Here is a short feature list of i/o's

Input
  • 1V/Oct (Pitch tracking) relative and absolute options for both oscillators and VCF.
  • FM (Linear Frequency Modulation) per VCO.
  • PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) per VCO.
  • SYNC per VCO.
  • Crossfader between VCO’s.
  • External Audio Signal Input.
  • VCF Cutoff.
  • VCF CV Input.
  • VCF Resonance.
  • VCA CV Input.

Output
  • Individual Waveform outs for each VCO (Saw, Triangle, Pulse / Square).
  • Noise Output.
  • Filter Output.
  • Clean Out (Linear THAT2162 BlackmerⓇ VCA).
  • Opto Out (Optocoupler VCA, West-Coast style response).

Controls
  • Waveform selection toggle per VCO.
  • PW position for VCO II.
  • PWM amount either individually for VCO I or normalized for both.
  • FM amount either individually for VCO I or normalized for both.
  • Coarse Tune for VCO I (relative or absolute via jumper).
  • Fine Tune for VCO II (relative).
  • Crossfader position VCOs I/II.
  • External Audio Signal Input Amount.
  • VCA CV Amount / Initial VCA Gain.
  • VCF Cutoff position.
  • VCF Mode switch*
  • VCF CV Amount.
  • VCF Resonance position / CV Amount.

*VCF Modes
subtractive = VCO (I+II Sum) > VCF > VCA
bypass = VCO (I+II Sum) > VCA, VCF standalone
bypass & tracking = VCO (I+II Sum) > VCA, VCF Standalone and tracking 1V/Oct.

I think there's more than meets the eye here, even though on the surface it might seem quite simple

When comparing anything to Behringer, I have to give whoever I'm comparing a pass on price because there's just no way to compete. Theirs is a numbers game where they're winning simply be sheer volume of sales and units.

That being said, comparing to a Mother, the price/performance starts to balance. Mother is only $600, but it's only got one VCO, and the crappiest patchbay ever devised. $750 for an extra oscillator and a better layout sounds good. I'm not in the market for voices right now, but I wouldn't say no to the opportunity own the Raven if it comes along.

I wish Birdkids lots of luck with this, especially going up against the Neutron. That sucker single-handedly killed the Miasma.

I need more $$$$$$$€€€€€*

I get your point, for a lot of (new) users there's no difference between modules, except for functions (specs) I presume.
Just want to say this is a very different synth from the Neuron. I'd compare it with Studio Electronics first. Different sound but that kind of module. Same pricerange as well. The proof is in the pudding.
