What's the motivation for copying in prod modules instead of developing originals? Answer me that.

Roland did a modern twist on system 100 already so I can only assume this is meant in competition rather than for something that is in demand and hasn't been done already.

I'd be all for e.g. ARP 2600 based modules.

And I have been painfully resisting a modular setup for years up until today

Ok I need to take a chill pill, it's great to make euro and synthesis more accessible.

But I'm uneasy about the choice of modules is all. I'd be super thrilled to see recreations of other classics currently not in production or other awesome stuff from the Behringer catalog in euro form.

of course it is legal competition, which is usually good for people who are interested into that stuff and the announced modules probably will sell decently.

Why not compete by offering something new *and* competing on price instead of direct competition for something effectively in production?

Bringing variety - great thing
Making more accessible £££ wise - great thing
Undercutting lower volume folks in euro who need margins to develop IP (e.g. Malekko) not good form imo.

I genuinely wish and look forward to transformative, original modules and recreations of stuff currently not in production.

So far this offers stuff I can already buy but at 20-40% cheaper price point (if you doubt look at doepfer and ladik prices)

So you're fine with Malekko clones but not with Behringer's?

Let's look at this another way, Moog don't sell euro modules. Would I buy a Behringer Moog euro filter? Yes, because Moog don't offer me one without having to buy a m32 or dfam.

They will no doubt. I'm not a hater of this element, just the weird competition with stuff already being built.

I hear you, but if your money / income / budget is low, there's no room for that kind of morality.

there are modules from AHJ which are authentic in price

no idea what this poor rich should do, it also buy rich people a neutron .. and the view when I buy an expensive industriel manufactured synth I get something better is just a joke

especially with the malekko modules you can hear of various problems .. justified that now the higher price

You can buy doepfer/ladik modules for £50-£60 already. This offers 20-30% on that.

If I were poor and wanted euro I'd get a neutron!

If I was poorer I would do what lookmumnocomputer does and DIY.

Wealth shouldn't determine or justify ethics and shouldn't justify copying others work in a race to the bottom

Now all we need is Behringer cases and power supplies. That way you can mount a Model D, or Neutron in a case and add some cool modules

Roland's module is automatically worse because they didn't go with the black knobs with the orange notch.

And I mean it.

"or"? i hope you mean "and"

I think aloud .. and suspect the model d and neutron anyway appear in one or the other module
