I'm editing a video about it, this weekend.
what osc was this?

I love the look of the wooden Bastl panels...frankly, I think the aluminum ones are ugly. The only thing I don’t like is seeing a single wooden panel in a sea of metal ones...which is still what I have because I couldn’t resist the Cinnamon.

One of my slutty future plans is definitely to build an all wood Bastl rack with motors and sensors and lots of CV and filters and things as an autonomous, organic little electro-acoustic sound design setup. I’d do it now but I have other empty rack space begging to be filled.

Possibly a very stupid question but is there any reason why using a headphone splitter wouldn't work with CV? Would the voltage be lowered as more things are connected?

I’m sure somebody will pipe in and tell me I’m wrong but wouldn’t the fact the headphone splitter is stereo render the idea useless?

I not sure. I have seen people use them as a midi splitter with a beatstep pro.

You can buy similar looking splitters specifically for modular synths. Can’t remember who makes them - Intellijel?
And yes, sometimes when you mult cv multiple times the voltage can drop, but not always, I guess it might depend what other modules you are using. I tend to use a buffered mult just to be sure, but have used a simple unpowered mult in the past too.

They work fine, just like a passive mult.

I'm using an Oberkorn sequencer with a Behringer D, Dreadbox Hades, Moog Minitaur and Microbrute. I'm sort of tinkering around the edges of modular rather than diving head first into a world of madness.

Beatstep Pro has a stereo mini-jack midi I think, not like cv.
My 1010Music Bitbox module uses the same protocol.

And you just paid almost 5x more than you should have. I'm sure someone can find a better price, but here's one ...

I've got a couple of the headphone ones ordered as well. The intellijel hubs will be wired in pretty permanently for pitch and filter CV from my Oberkorn.

Using a passive mult for pitch CV isn't usually recommended. That's the one place where you'd want a buffered mult instead, but YMMV.

I might be looking at this from the wrong direction. If what the various synth modules are outputting is in tune via their own tuning system won't that compensate for any voltage or pitch drop off?

I am probably an extra-odd case (like usual)I have exactly 7 of these and yeah I actually use all of them in a really intense patch, and have found myself wishing that I had at least one more on "multiple" (sorry) occasions. That being said, I knew about these from the beginning so have never bought a passive mult module. I do have the Multiplicity XV buffered mult though, some clocks do better buffered and v/oct sources needs buffering in my experience.

And I am gonna order another 7 because that's the best price I have seen on them, they gouge you on the shipping if you order them individually.

I noticed this track today. The artist is called "Jogging House"

I asked him about the patch:
Quote:
The patch basically has 4 voices. 2x analog, 1x Rings, 1x Morphagene. Rings is used to provide a basic rhythm. Morphagene for various soundscapes that fade in and out. And the analog VCOs provide melodies. I often use several outputs per VCO to send to different filters/VCAs and to make it feel like there are more voices active. Pam is the mod and tempo brain while O_C takes care of envelope duties.

Yes, Mangrove and Instruo Ts-L. Although I originally composed it with a Dixie.

I am in UK but last year or longer ago I ordered a few things from Perfect Circuit Audio when they had a sale, as a stock filler I added a pack of 10 of these splitter hubs

1x5 Red Splitter Hub 10 Pack - Perfect Circuit Audio

Generally I am not too interested in outside the rack items, but these stay in place when connecting a few cables to it and are cheaper than normal mults in terms of module and hp space. Other reason was that I want to make my own DIY mults when I get the time so I didn't want to dedicate too much HPs to simple mults.

I spent a couple of hours this evening mostly putting my euro back together after having swapped modules in and out for third rack and just enjoying the simple lovely VCO and filter sounds. The 5089 Moog filter is on its way and will get the Octocontroller next month so will sell a couple of bits to fit in. Probably Tides, Warps, Disting n LFO2.

I have some pine around so am going to see if I can build a DIY case like this one:

Yep, I always include screws, and almost always the original box and any stickers, manuals.

I bought like a million screws so I never even take the included screws out of the box.

yes I have enough knurlies for now... so I save the original screws with the boxes in case I need to sell the module later on

I've got a bag of screws too, but the modules with wood or acrylics faceplates require longer screws.

As an aside, I'm glad the Soulsby thing with the wood trim never caught on. I understand the purpose so you can pop overlays on it easily, but man are those end pieces ugly and a pain to deal with it.

It DOES make it look different!
I'm on the fence about the Soulsby synths. I think it can sound great. Would like to hear what you do with it.

Oh and I noticed this video: Analogue Solutions Treadstone synth voice module:

Lol! As I remember things, it wasn't too long ago you wandered in here thinking you'd get away with the odd module or two in a beauty case.

I think most of us have been that naive at some point. I swear, my goal was going to be a Happy Ending Kit to supplement my Vostok, and that was going to be it.
