I also have a Mikrophonie from Music Thing. You can usually buy them assembled for $40 and they're very handy. You can plug it directly into some effects and use the piezo part to play with, or it can pick up vibrations from slapping the case. It also acts as a preamp for your own mics, though I haven't tried it myself.

This video was pretty cool.

Just taken advantage of this and grabbed myself Rings and Veils. Discounts like this sure soften the blow of the $50 shipping charge.

I really like this video (and the oh-so-shallow braids-case!), looks really cool/fun to me!

And Derp, love the face-triggers, lol.

On other note, have ordered rings and ears. Looking forward to good times

I haven't been able to buy any modules for quite a while due to being broke, but it was my Birthday on the 22nd, and so I got some gift money! So half of it went to a selection of Erica Synth modules that will replace my QuBit Chord; to provide more functionality for what I am wanting to do (until I can expand to a 12U case, but who knows how long that will be):

And the other half is for an acoustic instrument I've been wanting for literally 30 years... a Persian Santur (a hammered dulcimer.)

Can I just give a quick middle finger to Erica synths right now? Since I'm rearranging and getting everything plugged back in, I thought I'd try to get my MIDI-TRIGG up and running. You see, I bought it last year, but after doing some rearranging, it just stopped working. It took me a while to notice though because if it's not in use, the only signal that it's working is that the lights flash green when you boot it up, which I hadn't been face to face with it when it does this for some time because my power conditioner is in a different rack. There was no telling how long it had been down, so I thought nothing of it, deciding to just leave it plugged in since there wasn't any evidence of any power problems causing it. Flash forward to today, I'm messing with my MIDI row. Plug it in, check everything out to make sure that everything is powered up, and I remembered the MIDI-TRIGG wasn't working. I check the cable, everything is plugged in what appears to be correctly. I noticed a little kink in the cable, so I swapped it thinking that might be the issue. Still no power. The red stripe is down on the PCB. There's nothing indicating where the red stripe goes, so it's safe to assume that it's supposed to be down because that's usually the case when it's not marked otherwise. Having nothing else to lose, I flipped the cable upside down. And. It. Worked. "Crap, I'm a dummy!" I'm thinking. I check the PCB again, nothing marking which direction the red stripe goes. "Well, I guess I should have read the manual." But then I pulled the manual out and there's no mention of this at all. So Erica went against the grain, but gave no indication that they had done so on the PCB, in the manual, or on their website. Thank goodness that it's got robust reverse power protection because it's been powered backward for months! So Erica synths? Yeah, f**k you very much for that!

If you're missing the QuBit chord (and even if you dont) I'd recommend you to tryout the chordorgan firmware on one of your RMs if you haven't already. Really brilliant piece of firmware, think I might even like it more than the RM in my small rack

And congratulations! Both on birthday and new stuff

Did you buy it new from Erica or used? Has it ever been available as a DIY project?

The reason I ask is a number of people at muffs have had issues with inconsistent PCBs for the Wogglebug DIY - some very experienced builders. It appears that some PCBs are manufactured right while others need traces cut here or there and other inconsistencies. I'm not necessarily blaming Erica for DIY kit PCB issues - those would be hard to QA if the manufacturer screwed them up. But I've not heard similar stories with non-DIY stuff from them.

If you bought it new from Erica, it would seem to me that there would be a number of PCBs created that way and others would have had the issue as well.

LOL maybe contact them to suggest this?

I just sold my Moon 552 CV-Gate --> MIDI module (5u)
I had to make space for something else.
Saving up for either the Doepfer or the Delphtronics link
Has anyone used the Doepfer A-192-1? link

That was actually the plan (when I expand to 12U) is to get the Chord Organ, so it would be my 3rd Radio Music module (I need to keep the other two as is, with my own samples, as I use them to play off each other.)

I still have the QuBit Chord which I can't seem to sell... it's in like-new condition and I had it listed on a few Facebook Groups and my local Craigslist, but no one seems to want it. Oh well...

Thanks for the Birthday wishes!

If you still have the Chord when you get the larger case, it really shines with a ladder type filter on it. I've been pairing it with my Evolution lately and pulling some amazing analog string type pads from it.

It was new and assembled when I bought it. My guess is that the ribbon cable was already plugged in when they shipped it and I just didn't notice when I was rearranging figuring they'd have labeled it if it wasn't red stripe down.

Unfortunately, I've been having to sell off pieces of my studio bit by bit for the last few months... things have been much worse than I care to admit (the reason I'm finally getting that Santur/Dulcimer is because I'm going to have to start Busking on the streets... that's where I'm at now.)

Funny I always wanted to be busker on the street, there's a certain kind of romance and freedom about it. I used to sit with some crusties I knew in London while they pan handled for coins, we'd sit there and smoke hash while tripping on blotters and people would walk past and drop coins and notes in the hat all night long, most I saw them get in one night was close to 200 pound.. most dropped 2pound coins, it soon adds up.

I'm currently up to 84u (28 rows, 2299hp) of Eurorack and 53 spaces of Synthesizers.com. This is my little control boat that's a work in progress with a long ways to go. The idea is to get this loaded up with touch-sensitive modules for getting hands-on with patches whenever I'm in an ambient weirdness kinda mood. Set up a patch, plug this little controller into various parameters, and then I can mold the soundscape with my fingers.

I agree about the freedom, but the romance of it will be hard to imagine for me... I went from making $100,000 per year running my own business in Los Angeles (that was after I was making about half that much at M-Audio as an Audio Editor and Product Manager) to $0 when I moved here to Portland Oregon 5 years ago. So, I don't know... I guess it will be better than nothing.

EDIT:

Don't envy me too much. I only make $30,000 a year. I've ranted elsewhere on this forum about the details, but this is the result of making a lot of sacrifices in quality of living. Also, keep in mind that I'm a self-professed talentless hack, so this is really all just going to waste.

Wow
Not sure I would want so many units. That may end up being like when in the past I had so many VSTs that it was just too many options
Or how long does it take to tune it all if you want to use it all
But I guess you can always use just a selection of units depends on what you are creating

Goddamn @Derp...I knew you had a lot, but...damn.

Seriously, do you have patch cables long enough to patch from one end of the modular to the other?
Old 26th March 2017

@Derp, Killer setup obviously. I'd be really curious to know a couple mundane details about your Euro rig-

How many individual modules do you own?

What does MG calculate the value of your setup at?

You need some tables or something reaching down like that would kill my back.

A little bit of 80's sounding cheese for you ...

First real patch with Mutable Instrument's Streams. Omikron going into Streams in vactrol mode with a touch of faked side-chaining along with some swing provided via Grids. Asides from that, just about everything in my rack is used. The other main sound is Qu-Bit Chord going into Evolution to create the analog string sounding pad. This is all in the rack with me just noodling on the BSP going through the precision adder and having O_C keep me honest to stick to an F ionian scale. No real sequence, just modulating gates, triggers, flip-flps and clock dividers all over the place. I'm just pulling patch cords to mute / enable voices.

In other news, finally pulled the trigger on a Metropolis and a used Aperture (it was that or Three Sisters). RobotSpeak is supposed to be getting some DPO's this week, so I'll get a chance to play with it before I decide. If I get the DPO, that should round out the core of the new 6u Thonk case. I'll have about 38hp left to play with over the next few months.
