For DIY, I'd guess the radio music thing is the best first try. Ripples and Ardcore I assume are SMD, so those will be a bit harder. I've had more hit-and-miss luck with SMD.
Thanks I'll check them out. My first project will be Ardcore which is an easy Arduino based build.

Ripples is SMD but recommended for SMD beginners on Amazingsynths here. So I'll hold off on that one until I feel confident enough to try. Looking at it it does look fiddly.

I don't think Derp will mind if i mention that he did post on Facebook on 25th july so i assume he's ok, he's probably just bogged down with stuff like me
Glad to hear on both counts.

Something I really struggle with is combining my modular with anything else.

If I use my Sh101/TB3/Erebus/SEM and TR8 I get an acid or techno tune.

If its Sh101 and Tr606 it's early Aphex.

If its my modular it's harsh electro-industrial type stuff...

What are you guy(s) tips for blending modular with other gear?

I used to try but I found my focus too divided and productivity plummeted. Octatrack/Vermona QMI2 was pretty easy, DAW not so much. Couldn't ever really get the clocks tight compared to the octatrack. Seems like expert sleepers is the way to go for "total integration". I went the opposite direction and now I only work with one setup at a time. Just easier for me.

choose your tempo's carefully, there is a real knack in getting the tempo just right for all songs I find.. a few BPM up or down either way can make all the difference..

This is really good-

Music is such a boy's club and modular seems even more so. Always glad to learn about women that dig the modular.

I never understand why module makers do this, they make their entire range one particular coloured faceplates, say white or silver, but then one random new module will be black..? Some makers drive me nuts with this..

They are silver. The black was a special order direct from Qu-bit.

ahh ok then that explains it..

SE modules were mostly a nice sliver with blue, then they went black, some went white and some went black n gold, I like to keep my system all one colour if I can help it, black modules make it hard for me to see the fonts and lettering..

I like my system black on the outside, cause black is what I feel on the inside.

I'm white as can be on the outside and black like Questlove on the inside.

And I would prefer all of my gear, modules, etc, be black.

Think I'm going to try selling my Mother 32 this weekend and replace it with a 0-Coast. Don't get me wrong, the M32 sounds great, but I'm not a fan of the sequencer and find myself always wishing it had a second osc built in...and it just seems so pedestrian with the rest of my modular. Sad because it's my only Moog, but I'll probably end up getting another Moog that's a bit more to my tastes soon enough.

Perfect Circuit has a ton of modular in their clearance section: Erica, EMW, Boomstar, etc.

I bought the limited edition black one from their website but you can get the silver one from other suppliers. I worked out it cost me £100 cheaper buying direct than from suppliers in Europe taking into account 20% VAT and 3.5% import duty.

It's $469 + 40 shipping from their website.
